On a recent camping trip to Kettletown State Park in Southbury, Connecticut, two White Tail Deer came to graze and we spent some time together before they ran off into the woods.

These particular deer were not too happy with my being in their favorite meadow.

They came close to investigate. Moving back and forth checking me out and wondering who is this guy in our meadow.

After some hoof stamping and snarling they realized I was not leaving so finally ran off into the forest.

It was a magical encounter lasting about 10 minutes. A wildness and gift I was most thankful to receive.
